Are consumers in a committed relationship with your credit union brand?
A great relationship is the result of many things – love, sacrifice, patience and more. It’s a complete package that goes deeper than a heart-shaped truffle container, abnormally large teddy bear or even diamond jewelry. After all, decaying relationships still involve gifts (sometimes expensive ones too). Sadly, many institutions’ brands have failing relationships with consumers. How does your community bank or credit union brand build a committed relationship with members or customers?
The importance of password hygiene
Let’s talk about password hygiene. As you may have seen in the news, it was reported that the “Mother of all Breaches” (MOAB) credential database was discovered on an unsecured Elasticsearch Cluster in the cloud. This was the largest leak of sensitive login data in history, compiling 26 billion records across 3,800 separate breaches across a broad range of services used by consumers and businesses alike. This breach contained an astonishing 12Tb of data.
Data: The true love language of consumer experiences
In the intricate evolution of financial institution (FI) and consumer relationships, data emerges as the universal love language, crucial for crafting robust and enduring connections. However, many FIs still grapple with a common concern—lagging approve-to-fund results that fail to resonate with your overarching goals. Here, data assumes the role of an effective communicator, capable of fluently expressing the varied love languages of your consumers.
Credit card, small business coalition again trading fire over interchange bills
It is often said that where you stand depends on where you sit. That is certainly true when it comes to the furious debate over credit card interchange legislation. If you are the president of a credit union, the big-box retailers are trying to save money, which they will keep and will not pass on to the consumer. If you own a small convenience store, credit unions and banks are trying to perpetuate the monopoly that Visa and Mastercard have on the credit card system.

The potential of generative AI (GenAI) to enhance aspects from member service to operational efficiency is immense, yet the rapid pace of regulatory changes demands a cautious approach. Report: David De Gea Receives Retirement Text From Spanish FA
David De Gea reportedly received a bizarre text message from the Spanish football federation congratulating him on his international retirement, despite the fact he hasn’t retired. De Gea missed out on Spain’s 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar, with Luis Enrique choosing Brighton’s Robert Sanchez, Brentford’s David Raya and Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon. The 32-year-old has likely missed out on his last chance at appearing at a World Cup.
Another take on when sellers refuse to release the deposit
Just because the pond looks inviting on a hot and humid day, don’t dive in, ignoring the warning signs, until you know what lies under the surface. The pond may have hidden dangers lurking right below the surface that you’re not aware of. Do not ignore the possible dangers for the benefit of a little pleasure. In my opinion, this describes the clause that Vito Campanale recently wrote about in REM.
