A diabetes drug controversially used by Hollywood A-listers to help them slim quickly is to launch in Britain as a path to weight loss, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. Semaglutide is currently licensed in the UK only to treat weight-related illnesses such as diabetes, under the brand name Ozempic. But its side effect of helping users rapidly shed pounds means it has a large ‘off-label’ market, in which specialists can offer it to anyone they feel might benefit.

New documents for Bordeaux Index, which sells rare vintages through an online trading platform, has revealed pre-tax profit increased by 122 per cent in 2021 to £5.9million. It paid a £1.8million dividend to shareholders for the year, up from £1.1million in 2020. Lord Spencer, 67, founder of Icap and Nex Group, owns around a fifth of the firm, which has eight directors.
