The first election I remember was in sixth grade. It was 2016, Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump. On an early October morning, in my first-period social studies class, I realized the reality of all elections: they’re stressful. We were asked to take an online poll and vote for who we wanted to win the upcoming election. I sat at my desk quietly, conflicted. I spent half my time with my parents and half with my grandparents.

Students for Justice in Palestine hosted its first rally of the school year on Thursday, Sept. 12 in front of the Lincoln Park Student Center. The rally, which featured a press conference then march, continued their calls for DePaul’s divestment from Israel. During the press conference, former contracted security officer for DePaul Terrence Freeman spoke about his removal from his position at DePaul.

In today’s social media landscape, influencers often get a bad rap. The Democratic National Convention hoped to prove otherwise. From day one of the 2024 planning process to the rollout of the blue convention carpet, inviting influencers (or content creators) to provide social media coverage of the DNC was always a plan.
