A high school guidance counselor helped me down the path to a successful manufacturing career. The counselor assisted me in earning a paid externship at a local children’s outerwear manufacturing company. I began as an administrative assistant, but in a few months was offered a customer service position. By the time I graduated, I was a production coordinator’s assistant.
