Last March, AG contributors and Teaching Artists Lisa Liu and Greg Ruby got together to co-host a workshop and give a house concert in San Francisco. In this clip from the concert, the duo expertly grooves through versions of three classic tunes: “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Manoir de mes rêves,” and “(I’m) Confessin’ (That I Love You).” In addition to being super creative guitarists with a shared love for jazz Manouche (aka “Gypsy” jazz), both are passionate teachers.

On this breathtaking recording, the global explorer returns to his passion for the West African Mande music that fueled his collaboration with Senegalese kora player Abiaye Cissoko on three albums.
