I haven’t given up on reading or reviewing but I am moving to Instagram. I will still put up my recommendations and a few words here and there. Play Wild: Nature craft projects for tamariki By Rachel Clare Bateman Books Play Wild is a photographic delight of nature crafts. Explore full-colour photos and follow instructions to make wristbands from petals and leaves, or make Christmas Angel decorations from shells collected on a beach. Or you could try making bubble wands or fairy-light jars. Or how about making ruru out of pinecones. This beautifully produced book is packed with so many activities and so much fun.

Sharing a few new children’s non-fiction books I have been reading. Stranded By Linda Jane Keegan Illustrated by Isobel Joy Te Aho-White Bateman Books Stranded tells the story of a whale stranding, as told from a whale’s point of view. It is both story and fact combining truths and imagination. The story is informative and sadly, realistic. There is good news for some of the whales but not all survive. A good example for children to assist their understanding of whale or dolphin strandings.
