A local brewery puts the Morehead community’s brains to the test. Sawstone Brewing Company hosts a weekly trivia night every Wednesday with Questionable Activities Trivia. Trivia night has been an activity that the Sawstone team has been wanting to conduct since they opened in 2019. “Drew Stevens is the host of QA Trivia and we graduated college together,” said Derek Caskey, one of the owners.

Yu Tamaki Hoso, an international trombone soloist from Japan, paid a visit to Morehead State University. The second annual trombone symposium took place on Sunday in Baird Music Hall. Dr. Justin Croushore, the assistant director of music in trombone at MSU, explained that the symposium aimed to create a day of community and fun. “We play this instrument and it kind of becomes a major part of your life,” said Croushore.

A local pharmacy is helping people protect themselves this flu season. With flu season being from October to May, Holbrook Drugs is assisting the community by providing free flu shots to people under certain insurance providers. The flu is a common virus that affects the nose, throat and lungs and, while most people can get better on their own, others need more assistance with getting over the virus.
