SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — A California food incentive program is at risk, raising concerns in the Northstate. The Market Match program, locally called Shasta Market Match, matches CalFresh dollars to families to buy fresh fruits and vegetables grown in California. According to the Redding Farmers Markets, Gov. Gavin Newsom's May revision of the 2026-27 California state budget had no renewed funding for the program, putting it at risk.
