Abstract Gujarat Castor Hybrid-7 (GCH-7) is a high-performing castor (Ricinus communis L.) variety developed from the parental lines SKI-215 and SKP-84. This variety holds significant economic importance, as it is a high yielding hybrid variety and its seeds are widely used for castor oil production. In this study, we report the first high-quality genome assemblies of the parental lines of GCH-7, SKI-215 and SKP-84, generated using Oxford Nanopore sequencing and polished with Illumina data.
