My first real reporting job was at the 50K watt radio station in Albuquerque, New Mexico - KOB. (Now KKOB)
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yep! When I was a rookie radio reporter at the US Capitol I used an old MANUAL Underwood.

Real Journalists don't write fiction.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Truth telling storyteller
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via someone I know and trust.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook, sadly, as its the easiest to navigate on both phone and laptop
Who do you wish followed you?
Everyone connected to law enforcement and tbe justice system
Why did you become a journalist?
I am fascinated by human behavior - why some people choose to live a lawless life and how they think they will get away with it.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My work on the corrupt side of the guardianship/conservatorship system. (Oh, and my work on Michael Jackson back in the day)
What's your favorite drink?
Vodka gimlet, Chardonnay

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That we are hard-drinking, single, slovenly types who smoke cigarettes, wear a trench coat and spend holidays alone. Ha!
