Rún – secret, or mystery in Irish – is the new album from the band by the same name, comprising Tara Baoth Mooney, Diarmuid MacDiarmada and Rian Trench. Rún is a deeply strange album – which is by no means a criticism. Each track seems to diverge from the previous at almost right angles. This strangeness is certainly deliberate given that they allude to it themselves in the album liner notes – ‘things that possibly shouldn’t go together are juxtaposed to create something surprising and new’.
