What was your first job as a journalist?

Writing simple 300-word reports, curation of Mainstream media reports with strict turn around time (TAT)

How is social media changing news?

Social media has democratised news in several ways. We now get to know about stories that traditional media would hesitate to publish.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be able to tell your factual story in an articulate matter to the world while remaining true to your core ideological position.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I prefer pitches via email. My ideal email length is 4 paragraphs

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Cliq for team coordination, WordPress for uploading articles, and Grammarly to make error-free news copies.

What's your favorite social network?

X (formerly Twitter). Although it has a few issues, arbitrary censorship is not one of them.

Who do you wish followed you?

Probably the Prime Minister of India

Why did you become a journalist?

I was fascinated by Indian politics, its intricacies and the conflicting narratives surrounding it. This was my drive to become a journalist

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My coverage of the anti-Hindu Leicester attacks of 2022 and the Bhagwa Love Trap menace in India

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Unlike other careers, you will struggle financially for several years as a journalist. Discuss this aspect with your parents well in advance

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Reading, spending time with friends and family

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Swarajya, The Indian Express, The Spectator, Daily Mail, Foreign Policy
