Multiphoton fusion of light nuclei in intense laser fields

|
By Binbing Wu, Zhengfeng Fan, Difa Ye, Tao Ye
| Physical Review B
We investigate the fusion cross sections of light nuclei in the presence of linearly polarized intense laser fields. By combining the Coulomb-Volkov solutions with the complex spherical square-well nuclear potential, we derive an explicit formulation of the multiphoton cross section in a self-consistent manner. Our analysis is specifically focused on deuteron-triton (DT) and proton-boron (pB11) fusion reactions, both of which have garnered widespread attention.

Shepherd electron effects in multiple ionization of rubidium by circularly polarized intense laser fields - Communications Physics

| Nature Verified
Abstract Nonsequential double/multiple ionization (NSDI/NSMI) of atoms in strong laser fields is a paradigm system for studying field-intervened electron-electron correlation. However, there exists a long-standing debated topic as to how NSDI/NSMI is triggered in a circularly-polarized laser field.

Laser-assisted in-flight muon-catalyzed deuteron-triton fusion

By Shiwei Liu, Jie Liu, Difa Ye
| Physical Review B
Abstract We investigate the deuteron-triton (DT) fusion in a three-body collision system of Tμ (i.e, a muon bound to a triton) impacted by a deuteron in the presence of intense laser fields with a semiclassical (SC) method.
