There was a time when every neighbourhood had a place where people naturally gathered. It wasn’t home, and it wasn’t work, but somewhere in between, a café where the barista knew your order before you reached the counter, a library where nobody expected you to spend money, or a park bench that somehow became the unofficial meeting point for friends every Friday afternoon. These places rarely announced their importance, yet they quietly shaped the rhythm of everyday life.

I’ll admit it… I’ve always enjoyed following the progress of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Every new rendering. Every construction update. Every photograph that revealed a little more of Frank Gehry’sextraordinary vision. There was never a question of whether it would happen, only quiet anticipation for the day we’d finally walk through its doors.

If someone wanted to know a little more about you, they probably wouldn’t find the answer in your wardrobe. They’d find it on your nightstand. Not because it’s perfectly styled or filled with expensive things, but because it’s real. It’s where unfinished books wait patiently for tomorrow. Where the hand cream you’ve bought three times sits beside a notebook filled with half-formed ideas. Where a familiar fragrance has quietly become part of your evening ritual. A glass of water. Reading glasses.
