Death of Chaithanya Madhagani, one of “18 women lost in 10 weeks to violence” sparks outrage and sadness

One day after International Women’s Day, the body of South Asian woman Chaithanya Madhagani, also known as Swetha, was found in a wheelie bin in Buckley, near Point Cook in Victoria. Chaithanya was a resident of Melbourne and a part of the large South Asian community in Point Cook. News sources are reporting that her death is a result of suspected family violence.
