Everything I Write Is a Lie
Everything I Write Is a Lie Except the parts that matter. Press enter or click to view image in full size Photo by Christina Miller on Unsplash “The story you’re about to read is purely fictional.” Every writer has written that sentence at least once. And every reader has looked at it and thought, Sure. I say it too. “It’s fiction.” Sometimes because it is. Most times… because explaining the truth would take longer than writing the story itself.
Can Someone Really Love Someone Without Being in Contact for 78 Years?
Can Someone Really Love Someone Without Being in Contact for 78 Years? Personally, I won’t even believe someone if they say, “I’ll text you later.” Press enter or click to view image in full size Photo by Bernard Tuck on Unsplash Love is disillusioned. I say this as someone who doesn’t believe in love but has cried over fictional people more times than I would like to admit.
Why Does Society Struggle to See a Woman Without a Man ?
Why Does Society Struggle to See a Woman Without a Man ? Do you think being a single mother was her choice ? Press enter or click to view image in full size Photo by Sharosh Rajasekher on Unsplash Yesterday, my semester exams finally ended. After weeks of losing my peace, I wanted to return to my normal life . Like always, I opened Netflix looking for something light to watch. I chose a recently released Bollywood movie about a single mother and her two daughters. I expected entertainment.
I Got Scammed.
I Got Scammed. But what happened next… I never expected. Press enter or click to view image in full size Photo by Ahmed Zayan on Unsplash Not the kind we usually hear about. No OTPs. No bank alerts. No money disappearing overnight. And that’s exactly why I didn’t see it coming. Somewhere along the way, we’ve started believing that a scam is only real when a huge amount vanishes from our bank account. I believed that too… until this happened. A book had gone viral recently. Curious, I decided to order it.
The Love That Feels Confusing
The Love That Feels Confusing What I learned while trying to understand love without losing myself Press enter or click to view image in full sizePhoto by Farrinni on Unsplash I hesitate whenever someone asks me to write about love. Not because I have nothing to say, but because I’m not sure I believe in it the way people expect me to. Love, to me, has never had a fixed meaning. It keeps changing faces depending on who is describing it. For some, love exists only between a man and a woman.

Child hospitalised abroad as bird flu cases climb
Cambodia’s Ministry of Health recently confirmed the country’s twelfth human case of H5N1 avian influenza so far this year. The patient, a five-year-old boy from Kampot province, is currently in intensive care with severe respiratory symptoms. The announcement, on July 3, came just days after a 19-month-old child in neighbouring Takeo province died from the same virus. To date, there is no evidence of human-to-human transmission.

innovation and diversification
By Andrew Humphreys * andrew.humphreys@medadnews.com Innovation remains strong in the drug development sector as the industry continues to produce a strong crop of novel new therapeutics, despite 2022 being a down year in terms of the amount of new product approvals given the green light by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration - marking a third consecutive year of decline.
One Weird Trick That Neoclassical Economists Hate!
Blair Fix caused a bit of a stir last week on economics Twitter with a cleaned up version of the above chart taken from his article on interest rates and inflation. My chart is a scatter plot of the U.S. annual CPI inflation rate versus the effective funds rate, from 1954-2022. The blue line is the best linear fit of the two variables. The "linear model" suggests that inflation is an increasing function of the nominal interest rate. Blair was met with a predictable howl of indignation on Twitter.
Bird flu continues to spread in mammals
The world's annual premier mineral exploration and mining convention, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) is just around the corner and this year, the focus on gold will be met by investor attention focused on the potential of the lithium market. The 'green revolution' and post-pandemic re-focus on reducing emissions and overall ESG has had a significant impact on the automotive industry with the electric car popularity growing through the roof.
research-backed tips for dating app success
Whether you're in it for the romance or the chocolate, Valentine's Day means love is in the air. For the 300 million people who use dating apps like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge, February 14 might be a time to get chatting. I've learned that while dating apps are a great way to meet people, the aspects that people value, like convenience, can also be a downside.

These viruses naturally circulate in wild waterfowl, usually without causing any symptoms.
Pathogen-Sharing and the Access to Benefits: Theory And Practice
Hi, As we have noted several times in these pages, there is growing emphasis on reworking the rules that govern the sharing of information on pathogens and the benefits that must accrue to those who share. The pandemic has given these discussions fresh life, and on-going discussions on a new legal instrument do not shy away from calling for a multilateral framework to govern this area.
"The idea of pathogen sharing is based on power dynamics": Q&A with Senjuti Saha
Share Geneva Health Files Hi, We are very pleased to bring you a comprehensive, lively interview with Senjuti Saha, a Bangladeshi scientist with lucid views on pathogen-sharing and access to benefits, as seen from the field. Divya Venkatesh, a researcher in viral evolution, also a Fellow with Geneva Health Files this summer, spoke to Saha in this important interview at a time when there is near unquestionable emphasis on the sharing of pathogens. Read on and share this.
