Interview
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Still do but mostly for art and design. My website is full of typewritten words: www.dmitrysamarov.com/.
How is social media changing news?
It makes spreading information instant. For worse and for better.
What's your favorite social network?
Hate them all.
Why did you become a journalist?
I was asked to contribute pieces I'd written about my experiences as a cab driver to the Chicago Reader.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
"The Vivian Mire" http://vol1brooklyn.com/2015/02/09/the-vivian-mire/
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time at all.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Painting, walking, biking, listening to music, watching a movie, looking.
