Effect of Volumetric Energy Density and Part Height on the Material Properties of Low‐alloyed Steels manufactured by PBF‐LB/M

The material properties of steels depend on the transformation behaviour during cooling, which can be distinguished into a continuous and an isothermal transformation process. Due to the layer-by-layer manufacturing approach in laser powder bed fusion of metals (PBF-LB/M), the associated energy input into the workpiece leads to heat accumulation with increasing part heights.
