A paddler appears to have turned into a skedaddler, and police are looking to reunite the paddlin’ party with their vessel. The Perth-Andover RCMP released a photo through social media Friday morning of a canoe without its captain, and it’s hoping to track down the owner. The RCMP says the pictured canoe was found abandoned along the banks of the Saint John River near Tobique First Nation, and it’s trying to return it to its owner.

Dealer’s appeal seems ‘frivolous’ - top court

Following up on a previous decision to deny a Fredericton man bail pending his drug-trafficking appeal, the province’s top court issued reasons why Thursday, noting his case appears to be “frivolous.” New Brunswick Court of Appeal Justice Robert Dysart issued a ruling last month, denying appellant Jerrod Andrew Mansfield’s application for bail pending his appeal, noting that full reasons would be forthcoming. A motor-vehicle collision is causing traffic delays on Fredericton’s north side, as police limit access through Killarney Road.. The Fredericton Police Force issued an advisory through social media at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday about an incident that’s causing traffic delays. Killarney Road, where it meets Jenkins Drive on Fredericton’s north side, was down to one lane Thursday afternoon as first responders deal with a crash.
