Don Merrill’s Biography
Seven years with Armed Forces Radio and Television. Eleven years as a public relations specialist for the Federal Government. Four years with commercial radio and newspapers. Four years as a freelance writer specializing in feature and investigative reporting. Three years with community radio, where I oversaw a Fund for Investigative Journalism project examining the effect of the American Legislative Exchange Council on the Oregon legislature.
Published a print book about the public radio & the pledge drive in 2019 and an audiobook in 2020. Also for 2020, conducting an interview project with Oregon candidates running for federal and state offices. And in the spirit of NPR's Sarah Chayes, will start a non profit called CNBSeen. Its mission is to replace burnt out lights on cars to reduce police profiling, unnecessary stops and lethal force primarily against drivers of color.
