SOMEONE has been tweaking the collect for 30 July. I am not surprised. The lesser commemoration citing William Wilberforce now includes Thomas Clarkson and Olaudah Equiano. I am not sure that lets the collect off the hook. Collects play a special part in our liturgy, gathering the prayers of the faithful, commemorating the example of a saint known for a particular work, and concluding with an aspiration about how we anticipate the coming of the Kingdom.

WHEN I learned that Mapping Migration, 4th Edition was available on the World Council of Churches’ website (and soon in print), I felt some misgivings. The binary nature of public debate means that facts — any facts — tend to be simultaneously embraced and shouted down, as those with the loudest voices resort to anecdotal evidence to double down on their positions.

Abstract Hemispheric specialization is a hallmark of brain organization, yet how functionally specialized circuits develop remains unclear. In humans, the developmental shift toward left-hemisphere dominance for language offers a well-characterized model for investigating this question. Here, we built personalized whole-brain neurophysiological models in children and adolescents to simulate task-evoked dynamics from auditory perception to language production.
