The Mapúa University is making education much more accessible to students, even post-pandemic, as it launches its first-ever online learning platform, Mapúa X, on May 15, 2024. Aimed at catering to both traditional and lifelong learners, per University President Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, Mapúa X provides courses in subjects, such as engineering, technology, and creative arts.

Taking concerns over climate change closer to heart, the University of the Philippines Manila is taking a step to reduce its carbon footprint and advocate for a sustainable environment by adding more to its solar panels across its Ermita campus. Totaling 10,000 square meters, the solar panel arrays will occupy 11 administrative and academic buildings. It will pave the way to a 1,600-megawatt hour (MWh) renewable power for the university.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is planning to make the Internet accessible to more Filipino families as it vies to expand the numbers from today’s 44 percent to 60 percent by 2028. Director for the National ICT Planning, Policy, and Standards Bureau, Maria Victoria Castro, during an interview on the sidelines of the regional stakeholders’ consultation on National Broadband Plan 2.0 and National Emergency Communications Plan, spoke about the program.
