Editor’s note: The Kentucky Senate passed a resolution during the regular legislative session renaming a stretch of Union Mill Road as “Howard Fain Memorial Highway” in honor of the late Jessamine County artist. A sign commemorating the honor was recently installed. Fain’s son, Doug, who is Jessamine County Circuit Clerk, wrote this column about his father and the meaning of the highway being named for him.
