Nine years after an initial prevalence study in this population in Tanzania, as well as after a significant increase in low fluoride piped drinking water, skeletal fluorosis (SF) is still an issue, as evidenced by the emergence of new cases. Although the etiology of SF is complex and multifactorial, fluoride exposure through drinking water appears to be the largest contributing factor, with high levels of fluoride found in well and borehole water sources.

Cost Of Living Squeeze Hits Pension Contributions

More than one in ten adults have stopped contributing to their company pension or are planning to stop because their incomes have been squeezed by the cost of living crisis. About 5 per cent of adults have ended contributions into their pension pots to save money as inflation hits a 40- year high of 9.4 per cent.
