Before accepting patients for LASIK surgery at Shady Grove Ophthalmology, Dr. Roberts requires a detailed examination and a consultation to discuss both the risks and advantages of laser vision correction.
Dr. Anthony Roberts has devoted his professional career to helping people improve their vision through corrective laser surgery. He is a certified VISX Laser surgeon who has received specialty training in ophthalmology at SUNY Stony Brook/Nassau County Medical Center in New York and in the Harvard Lancaster program. Over the course of his career, Dr. Roberts has performed more than 55,000 refractive procedures.
In addition to his work as Chief of Ophthalmology at Shady Grove Ophthalmology since 2003, Dr. Roberts has also been the Chief Ophthalmologist for the Washington Redskins since 1999. His professional memberships include the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
An avid traveler, Dr. Roberts enjoys visiting places such as Italy, Hong Kong, Canada, Hawaii, Australia, Bali, Indonesia, Singapore, and Japan when he is not busy working. His other hobbies include skiing, scuba diving, watching auto racing, and following Washington Redskins football.
