Switching/inhibition scores (faster and more accurate Stroop performance) mediate the relations between word reading, language processing and reading comprehension. Higher switching/inhibition scores and stronger functional connectivity of the fronto-parietal network moderate the relations between Hebrew word reading and reading comprehension. Results suggest the involvement of switching/inhibition in the Simple View of Reading model in the context of Hebrew reading.
