1 Introduction Transition-metal-catalyzed carboamination reactions of π bonds, which introduce a carbon and a nitrogen substituent in a single step, represent powerful transformations for the rapid assembly of nitrogen-containing building blocks [1, 2], which are essential for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and natural products (Scheme 1A) [3, 4].

Introduction The term ‘skeletal editing’ has been recently introduced to describe modifications of molecular structures by inserting, deleting, or swapping atoms in the backbones of molecules.1, 2, 3 Recent studies have focused on the editing of aromatic structures,2 while there have been fewer studies on aliphatic compounds.3 In particular, the homologation of carbonyl groups has been widely used through the insertion of CH2 into the carbonyl—α-carbon bond (Scheme 1A, Equation (Eq. 1).4 In...

Utilising the intrinsic fluorescence of pomalidomide for imaging applications† Optimisation of protein degraders requires balancing multiple factors including potency, cell permeability and solubility. Here we show that the fluorescence of pomalidomide can be used in high-throughput screening assays to rapidly assess cellular penetration of degrader candidates.
