Former Knicks coach Don Nelson passes away at age 86

Basketball Hall of Famer and former head coach of the New York Knicks, Don Nelson, passed away on Sunday. He was 86 years old. Nelson is a five-time NBA champion as a player and has his No. 19 retired by the Boston Celtics. He went on to become one of the greatest head coaches of all-time, winning three Coach of The Year awards. Nelson coached the Knicks for 59 games in the 1995-96 season, posting a 34-25 record before he was fired due to fit issues with his style of coaching.

Knicks’ second round rookie Jack Kayil is heading back to Europe on a new deal

The New York Knicks will not have second round rookie Jack Kayil on their team next season. The young guard announced Friday morning that he will be staying in Europe next season, signing a new five-year deal with Alba Berlin. Kayil was drafted 39th overall by New York in this year’s draft. He played in Summer League for the Knicks and flashed some impressive skills, but the team is full in the backcourt areas and are prioritizing a need to add a center with their open roster spots.
