EUGENE, OREGON – Villanova’s Marco Langon ran his final collegiate race in the 5,000-meter men’s final on Friday at the NCAA Track & Field National Championships at Hayward Field. In a field that sped up and slowed down for the entire 12.5 laps, Langon took the lead with 500 meters left, but he did not have enough finishing speed to cross the line first. Langon finished fourth with a time of 13:42.77, falling three places in the final straightaway.

Towson Transfer Abdou Samb Commits To Villanova Men’s Basketball

June 12, 2026 On Friday, Towson graduate forward transfer Abdou Samb announced his commitment to Villanova men’s basketball on his Instagram. Samb, 6-foot-8, appeared in seven games for Towson last season due to an Achillies injury, averaging 0.9 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists. He spent two seasons at Towson, with previous stops at IU Indy and Rhode Island.

On Wednesday, the four-day NCAA Track & Field National Championships are set to begin in Eugene, OR, at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. Marco Langon is the lone national qualifier for Villanova this year, and it will be his final race in a Villanova singlet. Langon has been on the national stage in Oregon before, finishing in the top three at NCAA nationals. However, he has never reached the top of the podium, and he badly wants to change that on Friday in the men’s 5,000-meter final.
