Probing picosecond depairing currents in type-II superconductors
Abstract Accessing the intrinsic critical current density in type-II superconductors can provide a means to probe microscopic superconducting properties and increase current limits in high-magnetic-field devices and electrical power systems. However, the critical current density measured using direct currents generally lies below this intrinsic limit, mainly because of vortex motion and self-heating.
TCONS_00052110 is associated with prolonged PTBP1 half-life and mitochondrial injury in PAH-associated right ventricular stress
Abstract Right ventricular failure (RVF) is the major cause of mortality in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), and even mild inflammatory stress can precipitate rapid decompensation. Here we report that the long noncoding RNA TCONS_00052110 (TCONS) is upregulated in the right ventricle (RV) under inflammatory stress and may modulate stress-associated responses. In adult male Sprague–Dawley rats with monocrotaline-induced PAH, a low-dose lipopolysaccharide challenge precipitated acute RVF.
Uncovering origins of heterogeneous superconductivity in La3Ni2O7 - Nature
Abstract The family of nickelate superconductors have long been explored as analogues of the high-temperature cuprates1,2,3,4,5,6. Nonetheless, the recent discovery that certain stoichiometric nickelates superconduct up to high critical temperatures (Tc) under pressure came as a surprise7,8,9,10,11,12,13. The mechanisms underlying the superconducting state remain experimentally unclear.

Superconducting nonlinear transport in optically driven high-temperature K3C60 - Nature Communications
Abstract Optically driven quantum materials exhibit a variety of non-equilibrium functional phenomena, which to date have been primarily studied with ultrafast optical, X-Ray and photo-emission spectroscopy. However, little has been done to characterize their transient electrical responses, which are directly associated with the functionality of these materials.

COMPARING DUAL ANTIPLATELET THERAPY STRATEGIES POST-ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROME: NETWORK META-ANALYSIS
Various approaches to dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) management exist to balance thrombotic and bleeding risks following acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The aim of this study was to compare and rank different DAPT management strategies in patients with ACS with or without percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

M310 EOSINOPHILIC FASCIITIS PRESENTING AS HYPEREOSINOPHILIA
Eosinophilic Fasciitis (EF), also known as Shulman syndrome, is a rare connective tissue disorder characterized by progressive thickening of the skin and soft tissue of the limbs and trunk. Here we describe a case of EF presenting with hypereosinophilia. M319 ATOPIC DERMATITIS AND THE RISK OF FOOD AVOIDANCE: AN UNFORTUNATE CASE OF FOOD ALLERGY
To view the full text, please login as a subscribed user or purchase a subscription. Click here to view the full text on ScienceDirect. Frequently, patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) avoid otherwise tolerated foods due to concerns for possible flares of AD, or sensitization found on blood and/or skin prick testing (SPT). Most studies in patients with AD demonstrate poor predictive value when comparing food allergy (FA) testing and immediate reactions during oral food challenge (OFC).

FiguresDexmedetomidine is a selective alpha-2 agonist with minimal respiratory depression compared to other sedatives. It is used to facilitate extubation and to treat delirium in the critically-ill. The Health Canada-recommended dosing of dexmedetomidine is 0.2- 0.7mcg/kg/hr but higher doses (i.e. up to 2mcg/kg/hr) have been used in the critically-ill.
P252 Association of P21R and H159Y polymorphism with common variable immunodeficiency and protein losing enteropathy

Many genes have been implicated in common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), including TNFRSF13C, which encodes B-cell activating factor receptor (BAFF-R). B-cell activating factor (BAFF) binds to its receptor (BAFF-R) and is essential to B-cell development. Most TNFRSF13C variants that have been reported were heterozygous or homozygous for the P21R missense variant.
Open circuit voltage and efficiency in ternary organic photovoltaic blends
Organic bulk heterojunction solar cells based on ternary blends of two donor absorbers and one acceptor are investigated by experiments and modeling. The commonly observed continuous tunability of the open circuit voltage V with the donor1 : donor2 ratio can quantitatively be explained as quasi-Fermi level splitting due to photocreated charges filling a joint density of states that is broadened by Gaussian disorder.
Innovation, Regulation, and the FDA
16 References 41 Citing Articles Related Articles Introduction More than a century ago, Congress passed the 1906 Pure Food and Drugs Act, which transformed a small scientific bureau in the basement of the Department of Agriculture building into a federal regulatory agency charged with protecting the nation's supply of food and drugs. This regulatory agency would eventually become the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
