1. Introduction In Denmark, about 5000 patients are diagnosed with lung cancer each year [1,2]. Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most frequently diagnosed subtype of lung cancer, representing roughly 85% of all lung cancer cases [3,4,5] and with an incidence that continues to increase worldwide [6]. Although survival has considerably improved over the past decades, 5-year survival rates remain low [2].
