DERBY-Town resident Paul Prue asked the Derby Selectboard on Monday evening if action is being taken regarding the abundance of signs in the town. He referred to the signage on the Agency of Transportation’s right-of-way in front of Cow Palace. Prue is a member of the town’s development review board. He said if a business wants to locate a sign off their property, they need a permit from the town. Prue said there are signs posted by businesses and non-profit organizations at Cow Palace.

VILLAGE of DERBY LINE- The Village of Derby Line Trustees met on Tuesday to conduct village business. But first they reminded the audience the annual Derby Line Community Day festival is scheduled for Saturday at Baxter Park. The event is free, as is parking. This annual event draws people of all ages with free music, games, activities, lots of vendors, and fireworks to close out the day.

EAST ALBANY- Bill Pearce and his daughter Hannah Pearce operate a diversified farm in East Albany, with a focus on chickens, turkeys, and 10 hogs. They hosted a tour of their operation last Thursday thanks to the Center for an Agricultural Economy (CAE). The poultry is pastured outdoors during the growing season, as are the pigs. The Pearce’s shared their strategy with more than three dozen people, many of whom participated in other farm tours sponsored by CAE.
