Independence AFJROTC Cadets in the MILLION DOLLAR SCHOLARSHIP CLUB. As graduation season has come and gone, three seniors are heading out to the next phase or chapter in their lives. The Senior AFJROTC cadets of Independence high school have garnered over $5.8 million dollars in scholarship money this year. The unit had three stand out cadets who have earned over $1 million in scholarship dollars respectively.

In a well-played ball game for five innings the wheels came apart for the visitors from Mint Hill at Butler High School in the final two frames. The Triple Nickel Boys of Summer team had a comfortable 5-2 advantage through the first five innings. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning after two outs, a ground ball to second base took a bad hop causing the ball to bounce off the second basemen’s glove, a miscue on the throw to first base sent the speedy runner all the way to third base.
