In retrospect, the big dalliance with artificial intelligence by megacorporations and other investors seems as if it was destiny. From quite early on in this century, AI was billed as capable of disrupting every single industry, and as “results” began to be generated, particularly using large language models (LLMs), investor interest in regular corporate businesses was always very likely to be dropping off. Because that disruption promise seemed like it was beginning to be fulfilled.

Millions of people over the age of twenty-one like to think they are adults. But to be an adult actually requires a better education than the state and tertiary education institutes provide. There are infant adults out there who are getting played by their own psychology. Mostly because they’re unwilling to learn. But another factor is the status-seeking “imperative” to find a partner and raise children (reproduction).
