For most university students in Ghana, funding their education is an uphill battle. The average tuition fee is pegged at GH₵3,000, while skyrocketing hostel fees can reach as high as GH₵16,000 annually. Combined with the rising cost of living, higher education in this part of the world is increasingly inaccessible to the less privileged.

The Africa Sustainable Energy Centre (ASEC) has praised the government for forming a seven-member committee tasked with overseeing the privatisation of the commercial aspect of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). However, ASEC has raised concerns that the current debate on privatisation is too focused on private sector involvement in revenue mobilisation, overlooking the wider operational needs of the state-run utility.

“Nice guys finish last.” We have heard this over and over but I cannot make any logical sense as to why it happens that way. This isn’t just true for only guys but seems to be for girls as well. Since when did being nice and giving all you had become a bad thing? Unfortunately, it kind of has! Everyone likes the chase, so if you and your love come easy, it’s bound to be taken for granted.
