Supralapsarian Christology holds that the divine intention to become incarnate precedes (supra, before) the divine intention to allow for sin (lapsus, fall). This can be contrasted with infralapsarian Christology, according to which the divine intention to become incarnate logically follows (infra, after), the intention to allow for sin. To put it differently, infralapsarian Christology holds that the incarnation is logically contingent upon sin; supralapsarian Christology holds that it is not.
