ORLAND PARK, IL - A Chicago man was arrested with $40,000 in cash on him after police responded to a burglar alarm at Orland Bowl Thursday, officers said. According to police, 37-year-old Frederick Thomas was seen pulling out of the parking lot at Orland Bowl shortly after the first officer showed up to the 8601 159th Street location. The officer pulled Thomas over while other officers checked the business.

TINLEY PARK, IL -The Crisis Center for South Suburbia was chosen for the Outstanding Chamber Business Award by Tinley Park's Chamber of Commerce, officials from the center told Patch. The center has been a non-profit in the area for over 40 years. Its mission is to provide services to survivors of domestic violence and educate others to prevent domestic abuse.

MARKHAM, IL - A teenager and a man were arrested Friday morning in Markham after police said they found an AR-15 gun next to the teenager's bed. According to police, the gun was discovered while officers were executing a search warrant of a home bordering Posen and Markham in the 14900 block of Sacramento Avenue. The man and teen were wanted in connection to a carjacking in Posen last week, police said.
