I'm frustrated by some of what I see in some of the personal finance forums I participate in, specifically when it comes to credit card use. Image: frankieleon via Flickr It seems there is a big disconnect between people who are new to the forums (who know credit card debt is bad and don't fully understand what a credit card is) and people like myself who have been on there for a long time.

When I think of things that I might have to give up as the economic slowdown affects my personal budget, botox is not one of them. I had planned to do a serious piece on the economy today. Serious times demand serious posts. I was skyping with a friend on Monday morning and he shared that his mother-in-law's portfolio was chunk full of Lehman Brothers. I felt sick to my stomach.

Unfortunately, my sweet little daughter has some health issues. The other day I counted 8 different doctors that she sees on a regular basis. On her medical charts, the doctors describe her as "aggressively uncooperative". She has grown to hate doctors, and she has every right to. I would hate it too. I cannot remember going to the doctor growing up, not even once. So I have no idea how she feels. But I have been to every one of her appointments and guided her through it all.
