Functional generalism in plant-hummingbird interactions: Causes and consequences from a plant perspective
1 INTRODUCTION In the intricate tapestry of nature, no species exists in isolation; organisms are embedded in a complex web of interactions on which they depend for survival and reproduction. In animal-pollinated plants, successful pollination often depends on the fit between floral traits and the morphology of their pollinators (Bartomeus et al., 2016; Kritsky, 1991; Leimberger et al., 2022).
