What was your first job as a journalist?

First official job? Radio presenter/producer at Radio Adelaide.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I used to write my earliest stories on a type writer - I would have been no older than 7!

How is social media changing news?

Social media changes how we connect with news, it gives news a personality and for journos, it means the world of news gathering is endless!

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

#horrormovieitsthesixthirtynews.... not really I just came up with that.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Anyway you like - I love to hear it!

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Well, it depends which job I'm working on. My favourite program to use is Adobe Audition, I love editing sound and sound production.

Why did you become a journalist?

Because I love to tell peoples stories. Someone once told me: without them, it's not about them. I have a passion to give people a voice.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I am most proud of a feature article that I wrote on an Adelaide local man, Stephen Coard. The feature takes into his story of homelessness.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be brave, be bold. The world moves quickly.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At the beach, as far away from a computer as possible.
