November 29, 2025 Hobbies Decades after first hearing ABBA, I discovered a London experience that felt like a reunion with every version of myself. Travel evolves as we age, but the desire for joy never does. In fact, it becomes more urgent. We’ve lived enough life to understand what truly sustains us – connection, memory, laughter, freedom, and those rare moments that remind us we are still wonderfully, vibrantly alive.

When The Da Vinci Code exploded across bookshops two decades ago, I read it in one breathless weekend. I wasn’t chasing conspiracies; I was chasing the feeling that life itself hides clues – that symbols and geometry are the universe’s handwriting. Now in my 60s, I travel not to collect sights but to collect sensations.

Continuing in my London travel series, I’d like to introduce you to the Serpentine Galleries (now officially called Serpentine South and Serpentine North) located inside London’s gorgeous Hyde Park and extending to Kensington Gardens. On this visit in mid-October, I saw both exhibits, North and South. Serpentine South Gallery sits just south of the Serpentine Lake (on the Kensington Gardens side, near the bridge).
