What was your first job as a journalist?
My first paid gig was as an assistant copy editor.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I loved my old typewriter. I used it all through high school and college and remember the powerful clickety-clack of the keys.
How is social media changing news?
Social media makes the news a collaborative effort. We no longer work in isolation; we are connected with our audiences and sources.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
All my favorite journalists are real.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means finding the truth, not just presenting opposing points of view. It means giving a damn.
