Meeting your heroes

They say it all the time, right? You should never meet your heroes. It will turn out that the person you’ve idolized all your life is actually a pile of shit in a plastic bag, and you’ll be disillusioned. Better to keep them sainted and at a far distance. I haven’t really found that to be true. Most of the time, when I met someone for whom I’d had a high regard for a long time, they turned out to be just as awesome in real life.
