We’re happy to announce the addition of a much-requested feature to Datawrapper: small multiple column charts. Since introducing small multiple line charts last year, we have received a lot of great feedback and seen some incredible usage. Today, we’re adding another versatile visualization type to Datawrapper’s small multiple options. Column charts are one of the easiest-to-read chart type out there.

When you create a choropleth or symbol map with Datawrapper, you can choose from over 4,000 background maps (so far!) to put your data on. They cover different geographical scales, from the world, continents, countries, and states, to cities and city districts. But sometimes, you might have or want to show data for only one part of that map – for example, only states in the east of the U.S., or only election districts in northern Berlin.

We at Datawrapper want to make it as easy as possible for our users to first visualize and then embed all the data they have — be it with one of our 19 chart types, three map types, or as a table. Today we’re adding a new way to visualize your data: small multiple line charts. Tidy up your line charts with small multiples Line charts are often the best choice to show how a trend has developed over time.
