We have a fix for high CPU on MacOS when Microsoft Defender SmartScreen is enabled!
01-29-2020 04:10 PM Thank you to everyone who shared and submitted feedback regarding Microsoft Edge’s high CPU usage when Microsoft Defender SmartScreen was enabled. We investigated the issue to find there was a bug where Mac timer expiration notifications were continuously being queued. This caused Mac CPU to consistently sit at ~150%. Having diagnosed the issue, we have created a fix which is now in both Microsoft Edge 79 and 80 for Canary, Dev and Beta.

PDF Inking on Microsoft Edge
Using a digital pen or touch to write directly on PDF files has been one of the top feature asks from Microsoft Edge insiders. We are pleased to announce that inking mode for PDF files has rolled out to all Insider Preview channels. With this new inking mode, users can fill out PDF forms and sign using ink or take notes directly on PDF files and save for later reference. To access this feature, open any PDF file from your computer or from the web.
Inking on Web Pages - Discussion
11-14-2019 08:05 PM @Elliot Kirk There's a lot of talk here about Microsoft in general, about Microsoft Edge Insider being worse than its classic counterpart, and about the need to be feature-identical at launch. (and... about Android?) I want to preface my response to your question by saying that I never used Inking on a daily basis; in fact, I've never used the feature at all beyond "seeing how it works". I'm not going to argue against it being added into the New Edge.

We have so many cool new features in the works for you, and we’d like to share with you the process behind how these new features will become available. To honor our commitment to building a great browser, we test our feature changes for any regressions by gradually rolling out the feature to a small randomly selected subset of Canary & Dev channel, and then increase this subset as we are more confident about the feature.
Re: TLS 1.3
06-16-2019 12:34 PM @Avaza 1. The windows insider program didn't exist until Windows 10. If you meant the beta program, well that is completely irrelevant. Until Windows 10, Betas were exclusively used for pre-validation of applications, drivers, etc, and all were pretty much universally extremely unstable and unusable. 2. No, it doesn't. 3. No it isn't. Mathematically faster and something that is perceivably faster aren't the same thing.

Dev Update to 76.0.159.0 is live
Hi @Elliot Kirk Spellchecker : Just been using it a few minutes so far, and it seems great. I've noticed that usually when I'm typing, a three-word predictive text box appears above. This is really cool as it saves a lot of key strokes, but every now and then it stops appearing - is this a bug, or is there method involved there? It doesn't seem to depend on where I'm typing, so am I accidentally hitting some key that's turning it off? Spellcheck keeps working though .
