Amparo Heredia has a vivid recollection of her parents performing in what was Miami’s vibrant Flamenco scene in the 1980s when many tablaos dotted the city. These flamenco venues originally developed during the 1960s throughout Spain replacing cabarets. “I have wonderful memories of those times … I felt very much at home in Miami,” says Heredia, the daughter of Málaga-born singer Rafaela Reyes “La Repompa” and Madrid-born guitarist Luis Heredia.
