오픈AI가 3일(현지 시간) 오후 GPT-6 Astra 모델을 발표하는 블로그 게시물을 처음 공개한 이후 여러 평가 벤치마크 수치를 변경한 것으로 나타났다. 일부 수정본에서는 Astra의 성능이 더 좋아진 반면, 오픈AI의 최대 경쟁사인 앤트로픽 모델들의 수치는 오히려 낮아졌다. 이 같은 변경은 블로그 게시물이 이례적인 방식으로 공개되는 과정에서 발생했다. 오픈AI는 당초 미국 동부시간 기준 오후 2시에 게시물을 공개할 예정이었지만, 실제로 온라인에서 정상적으로 확인할 수 있기까지는 거의 두 시간이 더 걸렸다. 오픈AI의 X 계정이 오후 3시 32분 블로그 게시물 링크를 올렸을 당시에도 해당 링크는 제대로 열리지 않았고 오류 메시지가 나타났다. 오후 3시 50분에는 샘 올트먼 오픈AI 최고경영자(CEO)가 직접 링크를 게시하며 "블로그 게시물을 배포하는 과정에서 작은 문제가 있었지만, 정말 훌륭하다"고 적었다.

OpenAI has changed several evaluation benchmarks for its GPT-6 Astra model since first publishing a blog post announcement mid-afternoon on Sept. 3. In some cases, the numbers on the updated versions showed Astra performing better, while numbers for models from OpenAI's arch rival Anthropic got worse. The changes occurred amid an unusual rollout of the blog post. OpenAI originally planned for the post to go live at 2 p.m. ET, but it took almost another two hours before it was widely viewable online.
