The tree has been a holiday staple in Rockefeller Center every year since 1931, with the lighting being broadcast live around the world since 1951. This year, the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4. Visiting hours will be 6 a.m. to midnight daily through Jan.
