Reporter for my university newspaper.

It's making it something people see as a right to consume rather than a privilege.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means you're never off-duty.

In writing.

Computer, pen and paper, recorder, my phone, a camera.

Why did you become a journalist?
To tell stories that matter.

No.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A story on LGBT rights in Russia.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be bulldogs.

When you have a good idea.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
An independent film about the effects sugar has on our health and the cost to society at large.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Anything involving "I've discovered a cure for...".
What's your favorite drink?
Tea.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On a plane.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
National Geographic.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Investigations are a witch hunt.
