The Orange Coast College No. 3-ranked women's basketball team went 3-0 this past week, improving its record to 13-0. The Pirates started the week off with a win over No. 13 in the CCCAA top 25 state rankings, Long Beach City College 71-62 on Tuesday. After trailing the first quarter 14-11, OCC outscored the LBCC in the second quarter 15-8 to end the first half leading 26-22.

Student Union will extend hours during finals week

As finals week is approaching, Orange Coast College’s Student Union will host events that will have the building stay open until 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. Students can study for their exams coming up at separate study tables and rooms in the Student Union. “This is a time where students can come study for finals,” ASOCC student assistant Sophia Medina said.

Orange Coast College’s women's volleyball team will play American River College in the quarterfinals of the CCCAA State Championship Tournament on Friday at 4 p.m. After winning the Southern California Regional Finals against Santa Barbara City College on Saturday, the Pirates will look to keep the momentum going when the team travels to Fresno City College to play their first matchup of the state tournament against the Beavers.
